Tuesday, April 09, 2002As promised, my adventures on Haleakeau, which in Hawaiian means "Big ass volcano on Maui":I think I may be the only person in Washington state to ever get frost bitten in Hawaii. My family decided to watch the sunrise on top of Haleakala (a big ass volcano) and then bike down the mountain to sea level. Only problem was that the van that took us up , and was supposed to follow us down, protecting us form cars, broke down. So, I my family and 8 other people were stuck up on top of this mountian for 2 and a half hours in what was barely above freezing tempertures and gale force winds driving sheets of rain.
