BIG MASSIVE UPDATE:
first the knowledge bowl wrap-up. We took 11th at state and the trip was lots of fun. I had a big long story written up on it, but the window got closed before I finished typing it up, so it never actually got published, and I don't feel like typing it again.

the other major item of Topper news is: I just got back form Hawai`i and am tan! It was great, even if it was with my parents. We did all sorts of stuff, SCUBA (my dad had so much fun he is swearing he is going to get dive certified now), snorkelling, sunning, submarines, and stuff all come to mind. The most interesting parts of the trip were the bike trip down a volcano and the road to hana. Hana is this ultra small resort village that you have to get to throw 500 some odd hairpin turns and like 67 one-way bridges, and that is the maintained side! The way out is unmaintained road with that some turns where if you don't honk you don't know what's coming. It was really cool, cause the first part was through super dense tropical rainforest with lots of interesting smells, waterfalls and plants. We then had lunch with some really good Maui pineapple (my dad order a dozen to be sent over to the mainland) and other tropicla fruits. During the next part we same in the seven sacred pools, which are seven pools fed by seven sequential waterfalls, and saw humpback whales breaching like crazy off the coast. It was damn cool. Best of all we did it in a big airconditioned bus, so nobody in my family had to drive.

I'll post the biking down the volcano story when I find it. I don't feel like writing it out again.
