As for a personal update: I am still unemployed in Pullman, but no longer really looking. I am reading Politics textbooks and teaching myself about finincal stuff on morningstar.com. It's like a college education without the BS of requirements and homework :)

I'm going to the Marine Corps Ball tomorrow, whichs should be fun and interesting. Hope everyone else is doing interestging stuff to.

Okay. I posted most of this on Emma's blog, but then I realized I might as well use it for myself:

I voted for John McCain, since I knew WA was going Kerry anyways. I've wanted him for 5 years now, but oh well.

Not being friends with someone because they think or believe something is just flat out stupid and intolerant. People are for the most part rational actors and have very good reasons and interests motivating the things they do. To assume that they are ignorant or stupid for not believing as you do is a huge mistake. This is in large part why the Dems lost this election. Some people (including myself) find it hard to support a platform that includes a radically different social agenda then their own, even if the economic and foriegn policy agenda lmight line up better than another party's.

On another note: playing the electoral college drinking game is a bad bad idea that is extremely fun. 1/2 Oz of beer per electoral vote your canidate gets ends in lots of drunkenness. (hint, subsitute one shot per 24 electoral votes early on, other wise you drink too much beer...)
