topkai22: I went to CKHS's (my physics school) prom last night, and my date's group and I went to dinner in Seattle. The driver of our car found the place alright, it was back on union and 34th, not easy to spot. Dinner was nice and all, even if I was put next to my ex-girlfriend for some strange reason. HOWEVER, we had the most interesting drive back. Our driver took use down, in order, a one way alleyway leading to the train tracks and loading docks (he used the alley to get in and out...), a little joint through the docks and industrial section of seattle, a drive through Highline and west seattle (we drove past the same 7-11 three times before he stopped and asked for directions, forgot the directions, drove past it AGAIN and had to go back in and get directions) and finally to I-5, where we immediatly hit traffic.
iam THE DIXI CUP: haha
iam THE DIXI CUP: highline....that's right by me
topkai22: now at this point we were already two hours late
topkai22: hmmm, maybe not then, it was west seattle
topkai22: actually an hour and a half late, excuse me
iam THE DIXI CUP: ick
topkai22: our driver's date starts CRYING. I mean a full blown weep job, messing up her make up and all
iam THE DIXI CUP: hahaha
topkai22: so our driver is trying to aggressively drive through bumper to bumper traffic in federal way (his date thought it was bridege traffic all the way to federal way...) and trying calm his date at the same time
iam THE DIXI CUP: haha
topkai22: anyways we eventually make it to the dance, two hours late, and in front of the dance there was this gigantic sign for the theme that said: "Looks like we made it"
topkai22: we all just started cracking up
iam THE DIXI CUP: hahaha
iam THE DIXI CUP: that's great
topkai22: yeah
topkai22: and it certainaly makes for a better story then "I went to the dance, I had fun

Back to semi-weekly updates I think. Maybe. Probabaly not. Anyway, I the first thing I will inform everyone of, since I just found out myself, is that I will be working as a Materials Science Technician at Concurrent Technologies Corporation's outpost in Bremerton. This is a cool job that I am excited to work at, but unfortunately the pay sucks. I think I may get a third job (in addition to the one just mentioned and lifeguarding) helping install television stuff for more money, but we'll see if my schedule allows it.
Next item of my agenda: Mrs. Taylor is obsessed with sex and death. Today we did some Emily Dickenson poem about her sexuality as women which refferred to a penis as a small pink worm and a snake. I nearly threw up.
Speaking of throw up, has anyone heard of that new perfurme named Ralph? What bozo in the marketing department of Ralph Lauren came up with that one? That's almost as bad as marketing the Nova in latin america as "the Nova", whick literally translated means "no go."
Oh, I'm going to CK's prom with Anna Robins. It should be fun.
Umm, what else... oh! Oly's guys team finally won a track meet!!! Hoorah for the Trojans!!!
Guess that is it... except for:
QUOTE OF THE SEMI-RANDOM TIME PERIOD-
"Computers have made it possible for humankind to make more mistakes in less time then any invention in history, with the possible excpetion of Tequila and hand guns."

another quote, stolen from Jessica Ahart:
"Always behave like a duck-- keep calm and unruffled on the surface, but paddle like the devil underneath."
Quote of the ... hell I give up:
"So what if we are freezing our asses off above 10,000 feet in the driving rain, with a broken down van and at least an hour and a half till a rescue van comes, at least the bagels are good!"
As promised, my adventures on Haleakeau, which in Hawaiian means "Big ass volcano on Maui":
I think I may be the only person in Washington state to ever get frost bitten in Hawaii. My family decided to watch the sunrise on top of Haleakala (a big ass volcano) and then bike down the mountain to sea level. Only problem was that the van that took us up , and was supposed to follow us down, protecting us form cars, broke down. So, I my family and 8 other people were stuck up on top of this mountian for 2 and a half hours in what was barely above freezing tempertures and gale force winds driving sheets of rain. In otherwords, I felt right at home! what aloha spirit...

BIG MASSIVE UPDATE:
first the knowledge bowl wrap-up. We took 11th at state and the trip was lots of fun. I had a big long story written up on it, but the window got closed before I finished typing it up, so it never actually got published, and I don't feel like typing it again.
the other major item of Topper news is: I just got back form Hawai`i and am tan! It was great, even if it was with my parents. We did all sorts of stuff, SCUBA (my dad had so much fun he is swearing he is going to get dive certified now), snorkelling, sunning, submarines, and stuff all come to mind. The most interesting parts of the trip were the bike trip down a volcano and the road to hana. Hana is this ultra small resort village that you have to get to throw 500 some odd hairpin turns and like 67 one-way bridges, and that is the maintained side! The way out is unmaintained road with that some turns where if you don't honk you don't know what's coming. It was really cool, cause the first part was through super dense tropical rainforest with lots of interesting smells, waterfalls and plants. We then had lunch with some really good Maui pineapple (my dad order a dozen to be sent over to the mainland) and other tropicla fruits. During the next part we same in the seven sacred pools, which are seven pools fed by seven sequential waterfalls, and saw humpback whales breaching like crazy off the coast. It was damn cool. Best of all we did it in a big airconditioned bus, so nobody in my family had to drive.
I'll post the biking down the volcano story when I find it. I don't feel like writing it out again.
